I just needed to say that everyone interning and working with Community Rebuilds have been incredibly helpful, generous, caring, kind, thoughtful, and loving throughout this internship and especially during my handicapped state. I have felt supported and valued so much by you all. Thank you for helping me get a plate for dinner, or move things around, or for making or getting me food, checking in with me, and just all of that! You are all incredible people.
The money is such a gift and has helped me get new eye and ear protection, and hopefully I can get my shoes fixed or replaced. The best part, though, was that the money was in glitter! Thank you!Care package after care package was a wonderful part of Week 3 in Moab! Lena's family sent us loads of delicious trail mix ingredients, canned fish, tea, Larabars, and more. We are making trail mixes and get to pack a few bars now along with our other foods to help keep us satiated and ready to build. Yum, yum, and thank you.
Something that this work requires is great energy, self-care, and general health. I am so, so grateful that I have support in these things with my family and their business(es). I have been fortunate enough to work for Middle Path Medicine for quite a long while and learn about all of the supplements in that shop (at least at that time). This knowledge and anecdotal understanding has been of such help with self-care and additional nutrition for my whole body.
Thank you so much for such a valuable and supportive gift towards my work and play. With only $100/month for food as my major, initial income with Community Rebuilds, I feel wholly grateful to be able to keep my phone and have contact with my friends and family in that way. I would not have been able to afford this otherwise.
This also gives me the gift of taking and uploading photos, audio recording my experiences, and so much more. Beyond that, I am eternally blessed to have them as my wonderful family. I am extremely grateful and supported by my partner, Lena, and her family. They gifted Lena (and so, somewhat myself) a lump sum of money that is quite generous month-to-month which helps pay for the car insurance (a nasty $200/month), and additional fun/food/etc.
Even before that, her and her family really took me in and helped me feel at home somewhere in Seattle for some months which was beyond a blessing as well. I love family expanding! It is incredible to feel supported by the state government and welfare system during this internship. Thinking that what I am doing is enough to deserve this bonus towards my food (which was otherwise $100/month, thank you Community Rebuilds for that!). I am just so, so grateful for the food help, especially with working so hard, I need to eat!! |
